We Are Hiring: Communications Director

Wesley United Methodist Church and the Wesley Foundation Student Center, a diverse, welcoming faith community located on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana, seeks a Director of Communication. This is a 12-month part-time (15 hours/week), salaried position, reporting to the Senior Pastor/Director. Some remote work and flexible hours possible.


The Communications Director tells the stories of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Wesley Foundation and highlights the impact of their programs through engaging multimedia content. This person will serve as editor of two monthly newsletters (electronic and print) and weekly e-news blasts, manage the church and foundation websites, social media channels, and digital display screens throughout the facility, and assist in other communications-related projects.


The Communications Director must be able to relate and connect to a broad spectrum of people from a variety of social and economic levels. Qualifications include experience in a communications-related field including print, web, social media, and graphic design.  Previous experience in higher education, Christian ministry, or other non-profit organization is beneficial.
