Now Hiring: Development Assistant (Part-Time, 12–15 Hours/Week)
Compensation: $25–$30/hour, commensurate with experience

The Wesley Foundation, the United Methodist Student Center at the University of Illinois, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Development Assistant to support fundraising operations for our campus ministry. This part-time position (12–15 hours per week) plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in donor data management, gift tracking, and stewardship coordination.
The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in nonprofit development, donor database management, and administrative support. This position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the mission of a progressive, inclusive, and student-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update donor records in our fundraising database (Realm), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Coordinate with the Business Manager to track contributions, generate reports, and manage timely donor acknowledgments
Maintain the Director’s donor communication calendar (e.g., thank-you notes, email updates, newsletters) and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule
Support development campaigns by preparing mailing lists, proofreading content, and coordinating distribution
Record donor interactions and assist with basic prospect research as needed
Qualifications:
Experience with donor databases or CRM platforms
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising or donor stewardship practices
Professional written and verbal communication skills
