Wesley Foundation a Home Away From Home

As you settle in this semester, we also invite you to settle in here at Wesley. We have some of the best study space on campus. We also have Worship, Study, Service and Re-creation opportunities to help you to grow in faith. Most importantly we have a Christian community where you can share mutual support and care.

After the first week or two, this email will fall into a pattern of a regular weekly E-Newsletter. Feel free to modify which emails you wish to receive by clicking on the "update profile" link at the end of any email we send you.

Graduate Student Study Meets Tuesdays at 8:00pm

Midweek Student Worship 8:30pm every Wednesday

Join us for an informal, student-led worship that provides a spiritual lift midway through the week. Time for singing and praying, time for reflection and contemplation and time with God and friends. We start in Watseka Lounge and then move upstairs into the Great Hall.

Friday Etc. "Hot Spot" at 7:30pm in our Coffeehouse

Looking for a place to hangout on a Friday night? Join us for fair-trade coffee and tea, snacks, live entertainment, pool, TV and fun. We're really excited about kicking off this new time in our old coffeehouse.

Everyone is welcome to come by for a few minutes or until we close at Midnight.

Sunday Worship

Sundays at 9:30am, Traditional Service

A wonderful worship experience grounded in our historic traditions. Trumpets, organ, choir, formal liturgy and meaningful sermons help shape this service. Students actively participate in all areas of this worship service.

Sundays at 11:15am, Contemporary Worship

Engaging music, message, guitars, drums, keyboard, and praise singers help set the stage for this wonderfully spirit filled informal service

Wesley Food Pantry -- Thursday, February 18th
Grocery Bag

The Wesley Evening Food Pantry began as a response to a community need for a food pantry with evening hours. Since November 2006 the Wesley Evening Food Pantry has provided groceries, health, education, and human services for area residences on the third Thursday of the month.

The ultimate goal of the Wesley Evening Food Pantry is for everyone in our community to having enough food to eat - resulting in no need for the pantry. Until that goal is reached, each month we strive:

  • To provide a week's worth of food to assist people through the end of the month when paychecks and Food Stamps may be low
  • To schedule the food pantry in the evening to accommodate work and school responsibilities
  • To respect self-determination as participants select their own food choices that match their family's needs
  • To provide regular resource centers of information, referral, and health consultation
  • To train volunteers regarding both procedures and the operational values of respect, access, and choice
  • To address the root causes of hunger for our particular set of clients.
For more information and to volunteer, go to http://wesleypantry.org/

Valentine's Potluck Lunch

Potluck!
After
the contemporary service at 11:15 am on Sunday, February 14, there will be a church-wide potluck lunch.  Feel free to bring a dish to share as we meet in friendship and fellowship.
